We are onboarding new employees using a hybrid approach. The Department supports flexible work arrangements. Depending on the business need and description of the position, we have options that range from fully remote, hybrid, to full-time in the office. What you'll be doing:
This entry-level position exists within the Financial Reporting & Analysis Unit. Position develops reports and completes a range of statistical and data analyses of claim data in the main data warehouse to support the Division’s supplemental payments. Position uses database software made available by the Department and descriptive statistical techniques to extract, manage, analyze, and summarize Medicaid claims data and other data that may be available. Understands and interprets written materials, including technical materials, business requirements, rules, regulations, reports, charts, graphs, or tables. Documents all analyses in the format required by Section standard operating procedure.
Residency Requirement:
This posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.Four years of professional experience in data science, data analytics, business analytics, economics, mathematics, statistics, Health information management or a closely related field of study.
OR
Education OnlyBachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied statistics, Economics, Health Information Management, Data Analysis/Science or in a field of study related to the work assignment. (an un-related degree will count for 2 years of experience.)
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years
Preferred Qualifications & Special Qualifications:
Master's or advanced degree from an accredited institution, Mathematics, Statistics, Applied statistics, Economics, Health Information Management, Data Analysis/Science or in a field of study related to the work assignment.
One year or more of Professional Experience utilizing data analysis software (i.e. SQL based program, SAS, Toad for data analysts)
Experience in the state Medicaid System OR experience using health care data.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of data collection, data management, relational databases, data analysis and research methodologies
Intermediate to expert level in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of the state Medicaid System OR Knowledge of and experience using health care data.

Comparative Analysis Process
The comparative analysis process will consist primarily of a review of applications against the minimum and preferred qualifications of this position. Depending on the size of the applicant pool, additional selection processes may be utilized to identify a top group of candidates. Applicants will be notified of their status via email.
