Job Description

Game designers at Riot design and improve the player experience. Your analytical skills, player insight, and creativity help craft in- and out-of-game experiences that engage and surprise players. You will collaborate with devs from all disciplines and work with every tool at hand to create and polish player-focused designs that'll delight millions around the world.

This role focuses on building TFT’s events and modes for players to enjoy and master, both in and out of game. Game design in TFT poses unique challenges: each piece touches every other, with endless combinations and ripple effects for players to puzzle through, represented in dramatic, exciting team fights every round.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with design leadership and the wider design team to improve the game experience across many releases
• Develop the craft skills to serve in a variety of roles, and work on a variety of projects, across TFT game design
• Design and build events and set revivals in Teamfight Tactics

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional game design experience or equivalent
• Strong familiarity with the auto-battler genre and/or League of Legends
• Empathy and understanding with respect to many different player audiences and needs
• The ability to give and receive both positive and critical feedback
• A track record of learning design tools, to enable prototyping and building gameplay content within Riot’s tech base

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with combat feel, polish, and satisfaction - especially when the player isn’t at the controls!
• Experience working in the Unreal engine
• Experience designing mobile games
• Experience on a fast-paced live service game

These duties are directly related to essential operations, safety, trust, and compliance obligations within our organization. • (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $104,000.00 - $146,000.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
