Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the Head of BSA/AML and Compliance. In this key role, you will work closely with executive leadership and lead the compliance team as the designated BSA/AML Officer. Your primary focus will be ensuring the organization remains fully compliant with regulations, including BSA, AML, CIP, OFAC, FinCEN, and the US Patriot Act.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development: Guide and inspire the compliance team, creating a collaborative environment where each team member is empowered to excel.
Regulatory Expertise: Stay informed about the latest developments in BSA/AML, OFAC regulations, and related compliance standards to ensure the organization's continued adherence to these requirements.
Compliance Oversight: Oversee the execution and maintenance of compliance protocols, ensuring that UAR submissions and other requirements are met for each financial institution.
Advisory Role: Offer tailored compliance and regulatory solutions to FinTech partners, aligning strategies with both business goals and risk management principles.
Process Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams on KYC, KYBC, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes to ensure effective and secure customer verification practices.
Data Analysis: Regularly analyze transaction data and reports to detect trends, assess risks, and identify any potential suspicious activities.
Strategic Reporting: Compile and present BSA/AML-related reports to senior leadership and the Board, helping drive informed decisions at the highest levels.
Training & Development: Design and implement training programs to ensure that the team and the broader organization stay up-to-date on BSA compliance requirements.
Risk & Audit Management: Lead risk assessments and audits to assess the effectiveness of the compliance program and suggest improvements as needed.
Travel Requirements: Travel (approximately 10%-15%) may be required for collaboration with partner institutions and to support compliance initiatives.
About You:
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
Professional Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in Compliance and AML roles, with a proven track record in leadership.
Regulatory Expertise: Strong knowledge of BSA/AML Compliance frameworks, regulatory interpretations, and the ability to apply these to business practices.
Relocation: Open to relocating if not based in WA.
